Resolution Leak
Hinting at the answer too soon.
You hinted at the solution too early. The viewer caught a glimpse of where this is going, and now the tension you were building has a hole in it. Curiosity leaks out of a resolution leak like air from a punctured tire.
Why This Works
The Zeigarnik effect keeps the brain engaged with incomplete patterns. When you hint at the resolution — even subtly — the pattern feels partially complete. Partial completion kills curiosity faster than no answer at all, because the brain fills in the rest and moves on.
In Your Ads
Read your ad from the viewer's perspective. At each point, ask: can the viewer guess where this is going? If the answer becomes "yes" before you're ready to reveal, you've leaked. Misdirect, withhold, or restructure so the reveal lands only when tension peaks.
When This Breaks
Your ad's headline says "How We Fixed Our Churn Problem" and then spends 30 seconds building tension about churn. The viewer already knows it ends well. There's no suspense. They skip to the end or leave entirely.

"We discovered the secret to 3x conversions. Here's the full story of how we struggled..." → "Last quarter, our conversion rate was dying. We tried everything the playbooks said. Then we found something the playbooks don't mention."
