Explanation Before Demonstration
Telling before showing.
You explained how it works before showing that it works. The viewer sat through a lecture when they wanted proof. Theory without demonstration is just someone talking. Demonstration without explanation is magic.
Why This Works
The brain trusts what it sees over what it's told. A demonstration creates immediate evidence that bypasses skepticism. An explanation creates claims that must be evaluated and believed. Show first, and the explanation becomes confirmation of what they already witnessed.
In Your Ads
Find where you explain how your product works. Now find where you show it working. If the explanation comes first, flip them. Lead with the result, the demo, the before/after. Let the viewer SEE it, then explain only if necessary.
When This Breaks
Your ad spends 20 seconds explaining your proprietary process, then shows a screenshot of results. The viewer checked out during the explanation. They never saw the proof that would have convinced them.
Example
"Our AI analyzes 50,000 data points using proprietary NLP to identify patterns in your ad creative. Here are the results..." → "[Screen recording: paste URL, results appear in 4 seconds] That just analyzed 50,000 data points. Here's what it found."
