Adobe Firefly vs Heista

vs

Firefly generates images and video. Heista runs the whole creative job around them.

Firefly is a browser generator with Adobe’s licensing behind it, and that safety is real. Heista generates too, and carries what surrounds it: the brief, the creative territories, the art direction, every client brand and the board you present from.

The difference

Making the visual, or working out what the work should be?

Adobe Firefly

Image and video generation

A browser app for generating and editing images, video, audio and vectors, sitting inside Adobe’s ecosystem and account. Trained on licensed content and covered by Adobe’s indemnification, which for client work is a legal argument rather than a preference.

HEISTA

The whole creative operation

Starts at the brief and finishes at the pitch: creative territories, the thinking behind each one, art direction, campaign imagery and film, against a brain holding every client brand, onto a board you present from.

Why switch

What a workspace does that a generator does not

Visual routes for a campaign in Heista, each with real imagery and art direction

The thinking happens here too

The brief, the creative territories, the art direction and the reasoning behind each route. A generator waits for somebody to have already decided what to type, which is the part of the job that actually takes the time.

A brand in Heista showing voice, mission, values and palette

A brain for every brand you work on

Each client carries its own voice, palette, logos, values and documents, on every plan. Not a custom model you train per brand, and not one held back for enterprise agreements.

Creative Assets in Heista, showing ideas, copy, visuals and motion

Nothing good gets lost

Every idea, script, visual and film your team makes lands in one searchable place, filtered by brand, by person and by date. Findable by the account it belongs to, not filed as a document.

A Heista board with the share panel open

Boards you present from, not just explore on

Pull directions, copy, storyboards, key visuals and film onto one shared canvas, take feedback in place, then present from the board itself. A moodboard gathers references; this is the thing the client sees.

The Heista branding editor, showing a workspace branded as another agency

Brand it and sell it as yours

Put your name, colours and logo on the workspace and run it from your own URL. Take it into new business as your own AI capability, not a subscription the client already has.

Heista spend history broken down by tool, by type and by member

The newest models are not the expensive option

Every major provider at the provider’s list price, newest first, itemised by tool, by person and by brand. Nothing steers you towards one company’s models because those are the ones that do not burn credits.

Which should you choose

Heista or Adobe Firefly?

Adobe Firefly is built for generating and editing images and video. Heista is built for agencies running the whole creative operation, from the brief through the pitch to the finished campaign.

Choose Heista when you

  • ✓

The thinking is the part you need help with

Drop the brief in and get genuinely different creative territories back with the reasoning behind each one, then develop the strongest into finished work.

  • ✓

You run work across several client brands

Each client carries its own brand brain holding voice, palette, logos, values and documents, on every plan rather than behind an enterprise agreement.

  • ✓

You are pitching, not just producing

Build distinct creative territories, develop the strongest into pitch-ready work, and present it from the board without rebuilding it in a deck.

  • ✓

You want the newest models, not the cheapest ones

Every major provider at list price, newest first. Nothing quietly steers the work towards one company’s models because those are the ones included.

  • ✓

You want it branded as your agency

Your name, colours and logo, on your own URL, so it goes into a pitch as your capability rather than a subscription the client could buy themselves.

Choose Adobe Firefly when you

  • ›

You need indemnification on client work

Firefly is trained on licensed content and Adobe indemnifies paid subscribers. For some clients and some categories that is a procurement requirement, not a preference, and nothing we offer substitutes for it.

  • ›

    You are already inside Adobe

One account, one bill, and the output lands where the rest of your production already lives. If your team runs on Creative Cloud, adding another vendor is a real cost that has nothing to do with the software.

  • ›

You already pay for Creative Cloud

If your team has the subscription, a large amount of Firefly is already included and unlimited on standard image features. That is hard to beat on cost for straightforward generation and editing.

Why creative teams switch
from Adobe Firefly to Heista

Your whole creative operation runs here, brand by brand.

Not the generation step on its own. The brief, the territories, the thinking, the art direction, the campaign imagery, the film, the social, and the board you present it from. Every client carries its own brand brain holding voice, palette, logos and values, so the work stays on strategy and never bleeds between accounts. Everything your team makes lands in one searchable library. It works the same for an agency of forty and a team of one.

The difference

Built for creative work. Made for agencies.

Explore. Develop. Present.

Rapidly explore ideas, creative directions and executions for your next brief or pitch, then take the strongest one all the way to finished work.

A brain for every client

Voice, palette, logos, values and documents per brand, so the work stays on strategy and never bleeds between accounts.

Not another tab

Ideation, art direction, imagery, film and social in one workspace, so nothing gets exported into the next tool and loses its context.

Pay provider prices

Generation at list price with no markup, itemised by tool, person and brand. No subscription required to start.

From the brief to the work

Rapidly explore ideas, creative directions and executions for your next brief or pitch. Develop the thinking, sell the direction, and create every visual, film and format the work needs.

  1. 01Explore

Several campaign executions developed from one brief in Heista

    More ways into the brief

Drop the brief in and get several real directions back, not ten versions of the obvious one. The first idea everybody has is the one to get past.

  2. 02Develop

A single creative direction opened into a full execution with imagery and reasoning

    Take the strongest one further

Pick a direction and open it up. Territories, executions, art direction, the thinking behind each one. This is the part that usually happens in a document nobody reads twice.

  3. 03Present

A finished board of campaign imagery and art direction, ready to present

Put it in front of the client

Art direction, campaign imagery and film, made against the brand you are already working in, then straight onto a board you present from. No deck build, no export.

Frequently asked questions

Everything else worth knowing before you try either one.

Talk to us
Is Heista a replacement for Adobe Firefly?
For the creative process, yes. Heista carries the brief, the territories, the art direction, every client brand and the boards you present from, and generates the imagery and film along the way. Firefly is the generation and editing step, and a strong one. Plenty of agencies will keep Adobe for retouching and finishing and run the campaign development itself in Heista.
Does Heista help with the idea, not just the execution?
That is what it is built around. Drop a brief in and get several genuinely different creative territories back with the thinking behind each one, then open the strongest into executions, art direction and finished film. A generator waits for you to have already decided what to type.
What about Adobe’s commercial indemnification?
It is real and it matters, and it is the strongest reason to pick them. Firefly is trained on licensed content and Adobe indemnifies paid subscribers, which for some clients and categories is a procurement requirement rather than a preference. Heista runs the frontier models from every major provider, which is a different trade: newer capability, the providers’ own terms.
Does Firefly not have boards now?
It does, and theirs are for gathering references and comparing options. The difference is what a board is for. A Heista board is the thing you present to a client from, with the directions, copy, key visuals and film laid out on it and feedback taken in place, so the pitch is the board rather than a deck rebuilt from one.
How does the pricing compare?
Heista is $59 per seat a month, with a free tier on one brand, and generation billed at the provider’s list price: a dollar buys a dollar, itemised by tool, by person and by brand. Firefly sells generative credits, from 2,000 a month on Standard to 50,000 on Premium. Standard image features are unlimited, but video, audio and the partner models consume credits, so the newest models are the ones that cost you.
Does Heista work across several client brands?
That is what it is built around, and it is on every plan. Each client carries its own brand brain holding voice, palette, logos, values and documents, so the work stays on strategy and never bleeds between accounts. Firefly’s nearest equivalent, Custom Models, sits behind an enterprise agreement.
