Years Experience Proof
Leverages the experience-competence link. The brain equates time-in-field with mastery, making tenure a trust signal.
Years-of-experience proof uses time-in-field as a credibility marker. The brain equates duration with mastery — someone who has done something for 10 years is presumed more competent than someone who has done it for 10 months. This is a rough heuristic, but it's deeply embedded and highly effective.
Why This Works
The experience-competence link is one of the brain's most automatic judgments. Evolutionarily, older practitioners in any field were more reliable because they had survived more challenges. This association persists: time equals trial, trial equals competence. "15 years in performance marketing" carries weight before the speaker says another word.
In Your Ads
Use years-of-experience proof when the speaker genuinely has significant tenure. Pair the number with a result to prevent it from feeling like an empty credential. "15 years and $40M in managed ad spend" is stronger than "15 years of experience" alone. Duration plus outcome equals authority.
When This Breaks
When years of experience aren't paired with results, the viewer may think "15 years of doing it wrong." Duration without proof is neutral at best.
Example
"After 12 years building ad creative for 200+ brands, I can decode why any ad works in under 30 seconds. Here's what I look for."
When To Use It
Use Years Experience Proof when you need the viewer to believe what you're claiming. This technique provides the evidence that converts interest into trust. Claims without validation are just opinions.
