Value & Proof Techniques
Reasoning Chain
Creates logical inevitability. When each step follows naturally, the viewer's brain arrives at the conclusion as its own idea.
A reasoning chain walks the viewer through a logical sequence where each step makes the next inevitable. When the conclusion arrives, it doesn't feel like your assertion — it feels like the viewer's own realization. This is the most persuasive form of argument: one where the audience thinks they arrived at the conclusion themselves.
Why This Works
Logical inevitability bypasses resistance. When someone feels they're being sold to, they activate counter-arguing circuits. But when each step follows naturally from the last, there's nothing to argue with at any individual point. The conclusion assembles itself in the viewer's mind, and people rarely argue with their own conclusions.
In Your Ads
Use reasoning chains when your value proposition requires explanation but you want to avoid sounding salesy. "Your best ad has a psychological structure. That structure is identifiable. If it's identifiable, it's replicable. If it's replicable, you never have to guess again." Each step is inarguable. The conclusion is yours.
When This Breaks
When any step in the chain is debatable, the entire sequence collapses. Every link must be individually solid.
Example
"Fact: some ads outperform others by 10x. Fact: the difference isn't budget. Conclusion: there's a structural difference. Question: can you see it?"
When To Use It
Use Reasoning Chain when it's time to present your value, demonstrate your solution, or teach something useful. This technique transfers value from you to the viewer. It's where the promise becomes proof.
